Chester’s perfect spot for day trip

Chester is a great town to explore on foot. Not only does it have some spectacular architecture, but you never know when you’re going to turn a corner and find an interesting place to have a bite to eat or do some spur-of-the-moment shopping.

There’s a new and different emporium in Chester — Juwil By The Sea. Owner Judith Rudderham not only sells her own lines of fine jewelry, but also has a number of merchants operating under her Pleasant Street roof.

Luxury Condominiums for Halifax!Every so often in this business I am surprised. One of these surprises happened a few months ago when Joe Ross from GJR Developments came to my office to ask if I would be interested to talk about a new development he wanted to build. Joe explained to me that he had a vision for a piece of land on the Bedford Basin on the Dartmouth side of the Halifax harbour. He described to me a wonderful site with direct waterfront, western views of historic Halifax and a tremendous opportunity to build his dream project, a old world solid stone and concrete edifice! Joe said that he had been working on this project for over two years and it was now all coming together. This kind of talk was of no surprise to me, I have people coming to me all the time with vapor visions and dream developments, the REAL SURPRISE was he was about to start to build and asked, would I – or my more correctly – would my company be interested in promoting and selling his project! WIndsor Textile Mill is getting a Makeover

WINDSOR — The former Nova Scotia Textiles plant is about to become the site of a major business development that will revitalize the 125-year-old structure and bring new businesses and condominiums to the area.

Windsor businessman Terry Hines, owner of Hawboldt’s Home Furniture, and Kevin Keefe, owner of the Granite Brewery in downtown Halifax, plan to renovate the 125-year-old building, adding a micro-brewery, other businesses and 18 condominiums.

…He and Mr. Keefe, who have several investors backing the project, have been working on it for the past four months and are in the process of taking over the building from its former owner.
