This web log technology has been biting my rear end for some time now and the time has come to do something about it.
The idea to publish a blog in 2005 has been on the back burner and it only just struck me that January 1 would be an appropriate day to start. I have been collecting news stories for awhile now and related links that I thought would be useful in a web log about Nova Scotia Real Estate.
I hope to keep the log fresh, informative, possibly controversial and humorous. We have many issues to discuss and as a tickler I will just mention a few.
Some very “near future” topics:
1. Private island owners having to defend their titles against Crown Land claims. Something doesn’t smell right here. Are non-island owners quietly lobbying the NS gov. to expropriate islands away from rightful owners?
2. “Bushdodgers” – Where are they? Is America moving to Canada? Where are all the damn yankees then?
3. Waterfront property prices. Is there true value or just hype?
4. “The British are coming, the British are coming” Is this the next buyer invasion?
5. Tax rollbacks. Why are they just for the locals. Is it really fair to the CFA’s?
6. Globalization of the real estate industry, is our industry been hijacked by FSBO sites?
7. The New role of a Realtor. Are we mentors, advisors, just a shoulder to cry on or do we add value to the food chain?
8. When should I sell? I here about big and small properties selling all the time now, any time of the year. Has the “seasonality” gone out of the market?
9. “Don’t leave (your USA) home without it”. I don’t think so! Remember private ownership of hand guns are illegal in Canada. Is that so bad??
Those are just a few of the topics I have in mind to discuss among other things.
